Munich, 3 July 2023 | Business law firm SNP Schlawien has made a significant addition to its transaction team in Munich with the arrival of\u00a0Dr. Thomas Schmid<\/a>,\u00a0previously head of the German M&A and private equity practice at Orrick.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr Schmid (56) specialises in advising on M&A, private equity and venture\/growth capital transactions. His clients include national and international companies, private equity, venture and growth capital funds as well as start-ups, which he advises on national and cross-border transactions. In addition, Dr. Schmid has expertise in the areas of restructuring, general commercial and corporate law as well as compliance issues. Thomas Schmid has particular experience in the technology, life science\/healthcare and automotive\/mobility sectors. He is considered one of the leading lawyers in his field in Germany.<\/p>\n

At SNP, Dr Schmid joins a young transaction advisory team led by Dr Philipp Schlawien (whom he knows well from their time together at Weil Gotshal), Dr Armin Fary (who joined SNP in 2018 from the law firm Dechert) and Peter Muth. With the reinforcement of Dr Schmid, SNP’s M&A and private equity practice as well as the venture capital area will advise clients even more comprehensively in all areas of the transaction business in the future.<\/p>\n
