Thorsten Engel

Originally entering the legal profession as a criminal defence lawyer, I now mainly advise and represent medium-sized companies in all matters of labour law and other contract law in their day-to-day business.

 

As I am firmly convinced that neither side always has the law on its side, I also represent employees and consumers with the same level of commitment.

 

My work ranges from conducting collective bargaining negotiations for company collective agreements to advising works councils or the employer side at company level, the individual drafting of employment contracts, conducting dismissal protection actions and advising and representing clients in social law matters relating to bogus self-employment or short-time working allowances. In the area of other civil law, I mainly deal with issues relating to contracts for work and labour and private construction law.

 

My strength in resolving conflicts lies in my skilful and respectful conduct of negotiations. However, where the law is to give way to arrogance, I fight with the tough bandages of a former martial artist (Taekwondo) and conduct lawsuits in all instances.
