About me

I advise and represent medium-sized companies – from sole proprietors to public limited companies – in corporate law, in particular in company acquisitions and reorganisations. I advise on the formation of all types of (subsidiary) companies and the creation of corporate structures through to the implementation of corporate strategies.

In labour law, I advise and represent employers on all labour law issues – in particular also in collective law matters and in negotiations with works councils and/or general works councils.

I regularly provide cross-border and English-language advice in all areas of law. In addition, I regularly represent my clients in court in all areas of practice.

In Alberta/Canada, I am also licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant to advise on German law.

Due to my many years of experience in advising medium-sized companies from almost all industries, I act as a central contact person for SNP either for the management and/or the legal department and/or the HR department in all legal matters. I pass on legal questions that do not relate to my expertise to the relevant expert colleagues within SNP for answering and processing. The advantage for the client is the clear assignment of a contact person for all their legal concerns.

I am regularly recognised for my work by Best Lawyers in the ranking ‘The Best Lawyers in Germany’ in the area of corporate law and by Handelsblatt in the ranking ‘Germany’s Best Lawyers’ in the area of corporate law.

References / quotes

‘Complex problems with equally complex issues and legal questions. Richard Rummel not only provided me with excellent strategic advice in this situation, but also solved the problems in ‘his’ areas of law, as well as bringing in and coordinating the necessary expertise from other specialist areas. The result was remarkable. My unreserved recommendation.’

Prof Dr Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, Director CAR - Center Automotive Research, Managing Director Ferdi Research GmbH, Bochum

‘Ongoing legal advice in labour law: Very thorough and competent advice – you receive legal advice that has been examined from all sides and all eventualities are addressed and explained. In addition, questions and concerns are dealt with and answered very promptly. We are completely satisfied and can definitely give them a clear recommendation.’

‘Drawing up an investment and shareholder agreement: When providing legal advice to young companies with international business relationships, standard law firms often face huge challenges. This makes it all the more important for me as managing director to ensure the necessary expertise, commitment and selection of optimal contractual constructs as legal advice. I have found this in an excellent way with Mr Rummel. Working at the highest level, quick coordination long after the end of the working day are standard. Mr Rummel is absolutely recommendable. We will continue to work with the Freiburg law firm.’
