Olrik Vogel becomes new co-author of the renowned Staudinger commentary on the German Civil Code (BGB)

Munich, September 12, 2025 – Attorney Dr A. Olrik Vogel, partner at the commercial law firm SNP Schlawien, is the new author of the volume “Verbraucherbauvertrag und Bauträgervertrag” (Consumer Construction Contract and Property Development Contract) in Staudinger, the most respected commentary on the German Civil Code (BGB).

Staudinger, published by Otto Schmidt Verlag, has been considered the authoritative standard work on German civil law for decades and is highly regarded by academics, judges, and practitioners alike. The appointment as author underscores Dr Vogel’s outstanding legal expertise and recognizes his academic and practical achievements.

The complete revision of the volume “Consumer Construction Contracts and Property Development Contracts,” published in September 2025, deals with developments since the reform of construction contract law and the relevant case law. Dr Vogel has completely reworked the highly complex legal area of property development law.

After Prof. Dr. Rainer Hausmann, who has been contributing to the Staudinger volume “Internationales Vertragsrecht 2” (International Contract Law 2) for many years, Dr Vogel is now the second Staudinger author from the law firm. His authorship reinforces his recognized position in private construction law and at the same time sends a clear signal about the high quality of advice provided by SNP Schlawien.
